PVD Chroming Experts

We use a PVD, a new chroming method, that’s 100% environmentally friendly. This process uses no hazardous materials and produces no hazardous waste. It comes with a 3-year warranty. The typical warranty is 1 year. 

PVD won’t oxidize due to winter conditions. It’s 80% lighter than chrome, too. Choose from a traditional bright finish (ice) or a darker finish (black ice). 

We’re also able to offer a “PVD chrome exchange.” We order a set of PVD chrome-plated wheels that match your existing standard finished rims. When the new wheels arrive, we’ll set up an appointment with you to switch your tires and tire pressure monitoring sensors to the new wheels. Then we’ll send your standard finished wheels to be PVD chrome-plated and sell them to another customer. 

Traditional Chroming Services

Traditional chrome plating has been around since the 1920s. Chroming aluminum alloy wheels consists of first plating a wheel in copper, followed by a coating of nickel, and finished with a layer of chrome. This process uses harsh, toxic chemicals, so special EPA and hazardous chemical permits are required to run a chroming operation. 

In addition, damaged chrome cannot be repaired. The only option to restore chrome wheels is to strip all of the plating layers back down to the bare aluminum and begin again.

Another options is to have your standard finished wheels chrome-plated. We offer a “chrome exchange.” A set of chrome-plated wheels that match your existing rims are ordered. Once we receive them, we schedule an appointment to switch your tires and tire pressure monitoring sensors to the new wheels. Then we send your standard finished wheels back to be chrome-plated. When that process is completed, we’re able to sell them to a future customer.
